I had a fantastic morning exploring the beautiful Cairns Botanic Gardens looking for insects and spiders to photograph. Bridgette is extremely knowledgeable and an excellent insect spotter. I would highly recommend the ‘Let’s go Buggin’ walk to any keen macro or nature photographer of any skill level. This was the highlight of my trip.
We had no idea how much the forest came alive when the sun went down. We were shown all sorts of great critters: frogs, spiders, possums, insects, even a snake! Bridgette's enthusiasm was infectious, and was willing and able to address all of our questions. We would strongly recommend this!
We did a school holidays night time tour with Bridgette which we really enjoyed! We were lucky enough to see a stripped possum, a brown snake, some cute little toads having a bath, an awesome white lipped tree frog along with many different varieties of spiders, frogs, bugs, crickets, dragonflies etc. So much fun for our group aged from 8 - 68! Highly recommended.
I did 2 walks, a morning walk and an evening walk. They were both very different and both great!! It was fun doing evening walking around with torches. I saw very different species on each walk. Some of the species I remember were 3 different frog species, heaps of spiders and my first Mopsus Mormon, catapillars, beetles, a beautiful possum, a white tailed rat and flying foxes. I only had a phone for photography however Bridgette was able to show me how to get fabulous photos!! She also sent a field report after to remind me of everything we saw.
From the beginning to the end it was wonderful. Bridget pointed out so many insects and spiders that I wouldn't normally see as they are so small. Using macro settings I was able to see all the details, the colours and the big eyes. Now I am looking at plants at little differently as I search for the tiny animals living on them. I will do this tour again as there is always something new to learn and more to see.
Bridgette was so knowledgeable and informative on our personalised walk. We saw so many interesting and beautiful bugs- spiders, ants, beetles, flies, dragonflies, butterflies and so much more. Bridgette knew the history, rituals and routines of all our rainforest inhabitants. I highly recommend her tour to anyone of any age.
I'm a keen and experienced macro-photographer from Brisbane. When we visited Cairns we noticed that Bridgette was conducting macrophotography tours of the Cairn's Botanic Gardens. My wife and I decided to book a tour and use Bridgette's experience and knowledge of the gardens to help us gain the most from our visit. We were not disappointed. Bridgette provided us with a very enjoyable and knowledgeable experience. So whether you are a newbie to macrophotography or an experienced photographer I would highly recommend that you book a tour with Bridgette to get the most out of your visit to the Cairn's Botanic Gardens.
While on holiday recently I took my daughter on the Let's Go Bugging night tour. We both had an amazing time, discovering so many varieties of insects, spiders & wildlife in our walk. Bridgette's wealth of knowledge and photography experience made for a more enjoyable tour. I would highly recommend this night tour.
